I’m As Sick As Your Secrets
1992
Installation, corner of 27th Avenue SE and Yale Avenue, Minneapolis. Collaboration with Scot Torkelson. Four hours a night for the month of February.

I transformed the bay window of a house in my neighborhood into a space for rear-screen text projections telling my deepest secrets. I also solicited and projected (anonymously) the secrets of passersby via a collection box in the front yard, turning the project into a confessional. I also projected silhouettes of people engaged in “secretive” activities (like domestic violence and dancing). The show attracted a varied audience—the local cops on their nightly break would often park across the street to watch the piece.
